Theme Two
A common theme in this book is persistence, Adeline is very persistence in getting the love and respect of her parents.Persistence is continuing to do something even though it may be tough. As a young girl Adeline was constantly worried whether or not her parents loved her. When she became older her persistence have have her parents notice her grew less and less.
Adeline showed persistence the most while she was in primary school, she was the top of her class every week, and talked to her parents with the utmost respect, but every time time she showed her parents her report card she would run to her parents showing them her amazing grades, but each time they would say nothing and walk away, Adeline did this every month thinking one day her parents will finally be proud. I think this theme is important because it shows that no matter how Adeline get treated she will always try and work her hardest to earn the respect and love of her parents.
The book “Hunger Games” has a similar theme because the main character Katniss persistently tries to stop President Snow from starting another Hunger Game, when she is in the arena she is left with a friend named Peeta, instead of one of them killing each other they decide to kill themselves at the same time, but before they do they are stopped. Katniss and Peeta wins the 74th Hunger Games, but starts a revolution and persuades all the other districts that is this wrong.
A real world application that applies to this theme is when you try to get good grades, your persistently work and study your hardest to make the grade you want. You never stop working or trying. You constantly ask them teacher if this is good enough or can you get extra credit. This is why the theme of persistence applies to the real world.
